Wow! What a wonderful day it is!
It’s cloudy and cold, a day I would normally be sluggish, sad and wanting to just sit. But not today! To receive such wonderful words of encouragement from so many has truly blessed and energized me to get going and be excited for the day, whatever God has in store for me.
God has designed a beautiful web of connections amongst His people. Each place where the strands of the web connect is another relationship that we didn’t see coming — but God did. Have you seen a web where a strand has broken and fallen apart from the web? The entire web starts to sag, more connections are broken and eventually, the web falls apart altogether. But the web that is fully intact can stand up to almost anything. I have used a power washer and have not been able to take down a web! (Yes, I know a broom works. That’s not the point.) This web is what it’s like when God’s people follow His lead and step out in faith, meeting and forming new connections within and outside the body of Christ. It is strong and beautiful!
Throughout the book of Acts, God’s people come together and tell what God has done through them, through their ministry and how people have come to believe. Why? So that the rest of the church would be encouraged! At Northgate Church, my home church, this happens often! If you happen to live in the Northwest metro area of the Twin Cities, Minnesota, or you’re just passing through, I invite you to join us!
There are difficult days, cloudy and cold, but when we are reminded of what God has already done through His Son, Jesus Christ, and what He continues to do, we can have hope, joy and peace.
I pray you are encouraged today and find joy in all you do!
“Jesus came back, “God bless you, Simon, son of Jonah! You didn’t get that answer out of books or from teachers. My Father in heaven, God himself, let you in on this secret of who I really am. And now I’m going to tell you who you are, really are. You are Peter, a rock. This is the rock on which I will put together my church, a church so expansive with energy that not even the gates of hell will be able to keep it out.”
Matthew 16:17-18 (MSG)
